Retreat

This past weekend was our firm's attorney retreat. Below are pictures and videos of the house. We would like to get the whole family up here in 2012 to rent a house. 23 people could fit in this house easily. It has a pool table, shuffleboard table, 5 master bedrooms, a bunkbed room for kids, a foosball table, x-box, computer den, two kitchens, an arcade golf game, and so much more. We had a blast and fit 41 people in the house at one time comfortably.

Weekend in Portland

This weekend Stacey was supposed to go to Portland with her Mom and sister-in-law, but for several reasons the weekend did not happen. But Stacey's Mom and Dad did come visit us for a few days and we had a good time hanging with them. They were able to go to the coast and check that out, and my father-in-law went with me to learn how to spey cast. We had a wonderful time. So, since the Portland trip with the girls fell through, we still had a hotel room and decided to take the family there for the weekend. We got to Portland in the evening and went straight to our hotel room and checked in, then walked across the street to Red Robin. After a delicious meal, we went back to the hotel and watched some tv and fell asleep. About 3:30 am, we were woken up by a party going on in the room next to us. After laying there listen to the noise for a while, Stacey finally jumps out of bed and says "That's it!" Next thing I know she opens up our door and storms out of the room - then I hear a loud banging on a door and Stacey comes dashing in the room. She had knocked on their door and then ran. Well, they remained quiet for about 5 minutes and then the party started again. Stacey got up and went and talked to the front desk who said they would send security up. About an hour later, the people left the hotel room and things got quiet again - of course, it is about 5 am now. Well, our kids started waking up about 7:30 am and all of them were awake by 8 am. Hunter started bouncing a ball around on the floor and Stacey says to him "Why don't you bounce the ball against the wall?" Of course, Hunter thought this was a trick, because he knows that is something he would never be allowed to do. Stacey finally convinces him it is okay and he does it for a few minutes before there is a loud banging on the wall. Stacey tells him it is okay and he continues doing it. Then an even louder banging hits the wall and we all start laughing hysterically! Stacey says something like "Payback Sucks doesn't it!" and we continue laughing. Luckily a brawl did not take place, but we felt vindicated by ruining their sleep since they ruined ours! That morning we went to two of the best breakfast joints in Portland - Pine State Biscuits and VooDoo donuts. The kids did not want the biscuits so we went to Voodoo donuts and we were glad we did. Great food at both places! We topped off the day with riding the tram at OHSU. Great time to be with the family! We will try to get some pictures posted soon. Here is a picture of Voodoo donuts signature donut - a voodoo doll donut.

Halloween

This is an actual picture of our jack-o-lantern. It turned out okay. This year hunter went as a nerf warrior, Ryan was a race car driver, Sami was Alice in wonderland, and Lily was a fairy. Since Halloween was on Sunday we did not go trick-or-treating, but the kids didn't mind since they had plenty of opportunities to get candy. On Friday, the kids came over to the firm and went from office to office as the attorneys and secretaries handed out candy. Then, Bob Saalfeld dressed as Clifford the Big Red Dog and put on a magic show for the kids. Then, on Saturday the ward put on a trunk-or-treat and there were plenty of cars that showed up so plenty of candy. Of course, it rained on us the whole time. The boys did enjoy handing candy out on Sunday night and since they already had a ton of candy they didn't worry about not going out on Sunday.
