Sami at my WOrk

This weekend Stacey decided to go see her family in Utah and left the kids and I at home.  Friday night at 12:03 am, Sami woke up puking.  She ended up puking 7 times during the night with the last one occurring at approximately 4:30 am.  After the last one, she finally fell as sleep and got some good sleep until about 7:30 am when she woke up wide awake and ready to watch cartoons.  For the rest of the day, i tried to get her to go to sleep but she refused.  Around 2 pm, Hunter and Ryan got invited to go swimming so I decided to head over to work and try to get a few things accomplished.  On the way over, Sami fell asleep in the car.  She was so tired, that she did not even wake up when I got her out of her car seat and carried her inside the building.  I laid her down on the floor and used her coat as a pillow and mine as a blanket.  She slept for about an hour and a half.  I got a lot of work done.  But then she woke up and I tried to work for another hour.  I left her alone and she took my arrow stickers and put them on her face and legs.  I have attached pictures to this post of the adventure at my work.   Silly girl!

2011

I can't believe that the first month of 2011 is almost over! There is one more week left in the month and I have not even discussed my New Year's Resolutions! Things have been so busy at work that I have not even really started my New Year's Resolutions like I should - and it doesn't really matter because within a few weeks I would have quit my resolutions anyway. So, this year I have decided to list 5 resolutions that I will NOT do in 2011 - seems a lot simpler. So here they are:

1) I will not be jumping out of an airplane (unless it is about to crash) to skydive
2) I will not be playing Major League Baseball
3) I will not be running a marathon
4) I will not be exercising 6 days a week
5) I will not give in to Sami's demands and pleads (Okay, so I have already failed on that one!)

It seems so much easier to list resolutions that I will not do for 2011 and so much easier to accomplish! This list could go on and on and on!!

Last Saturday, Ryan had his first basketball game...and unfortunately for Ryan, he has his Dad as an assistant coach. Walking into the game we did not know what to expect. The other team looked like they could shoot, pass and even do a proper lay-up. Our team appeared to be on the ropes...and the game had not even started yet. Fortunately, our team is pretty tall and pretty fast. The game started and the other team quickly scored a basket. Our team got the ball and for several trips up the court, we could not find the bottom of the net, but lucky for us, our defense was fantastic. We got steal after steal but (as I kind of mentioned before) we could not make a layup. Finally we scored and then we scored some more. Then Ryan got to go in the game. Our boys had a hard time getting him the ball but eventually Ryan was able to get a few shots in, but each time he missed the basket. At half-time, we took a commanding lead with a score of 14 - 2. The second half was much like the first, we kept scoring and playing good defense, and Ryan got a few shots in - but didn't make a basket...until late in the 4th quarter when the ball was passed to him and he drove around his guy and shot a layup which rolled in for 2 points. Ryan jumped up and down and was so excited...as was his family! His team won their first game 22 - 4...yes, our defense slacked a little bit. But what an exciting game. Ryan can't wait until next week. However, Ryan got sick Sunday night and puked all over his bed. Once we finally got it cleaned up we got him settled into his bed and put a garbage can by his bed. When we woke up this morning we thought he was feeling better because he didn't wake us up in the night to say he was sick. But then we found out that he threw up about 4 times during the night! He was just a trooper and would puke in his garbage can and then go back to sleep. That makes me sad to think he went through all of that without anyone by his side -- but he is a tough kid!!
